Am I lucky or am I lucky. Yes folks, my life is all about living the dream. It was in the mid ’90′s when I first heard of CeBIT. It was a strange name to an almost native Torontonian who grew up attending Private Catholic Schools – thank goodness they were co-ed. But it was the name that lead me to explore in detail what all the hype was about, surrounding a word that sounded like biscuit. Once I got enlightened, it became an obsession. Every CeBIT that occurred thereafter was like a prom event I knew I could never attend. I knew it was in Hannover but it never even occurred to me to care where exactly Hannover was. Fast forward a little over a decade later and I suddenly find myself in the middle of Germany. Still oblivious to the fact that Hannover, the land of CeBIT was only a mere 3 hour drive, I continued living in this state of ignorance until I heard the words, “We’ll be at CeBIT in March”. Hahhhh?! I attended my first CeBIT in 2009 and one year later I was there as a panel member for one of WebCiety’s segments covering the “Mobile Lifestyle”. It was the coolest thing ever. While I sat there on stage looking out into the audience, an incredible feeling came over me that almost seemed to say, “This is it, girl. You’re really at CeBIT!” Indeed.
